Michael O'Neil has always competed in various nations but mostly the Asiatic region of the Earth for the last fourteen years.  A patron and older brother of the famous O'Neil wrestling family, Michael has always sought to carve out his own path, his own legacy.  After graduating from Columbia University with an MBA, he moved to study at the college of Economics at Nihon University in Japan, and after taking a job working in the front offices of joshi promotion Project KOKORO, he began wrestling as Wild Phoenix in Sapporo and Tokyo in Shootfire Puro.  O'Neil had wars with the legendary Sparrow Jinn and bested him for the Shootfire Puro International Trophy.  Using momentum he springboarded into the first of his Rising Gods Tournament wins.  Becoming the golden boy he was sponsored by Kakura industries and was called on to do promotional work for Happy Cow Yogurt Singing Sensation.  Japanese media did not help his profile and so he joined Bloodsport Pro as Black Phoenix.
As Black Phoenix he had battles with Genji and Chimera, fighting in Exploding Cage deathmatches.  He won the Living Violence Trophy in a no rope, double hell, double barricade log cabin light tube match in a deathmatch with Pitchfork Kruger.  After sustaining numerous injuries Black Phoenix had to take time off and Michael O'Neil was approached to star in the Crimson Dragon Movie Series where he starred alongside Action Movie Stars such as Andrew Davis and Mark Haley.  Michael O'Neil became a successful action star, working in over 164 fight films, but returned to the ring as a promoter and part owner of Shootfire Puro.  At Puro Regenesis he won the International Championship again, besting the next generation of Sparrow Jinn in overtime sudden death.  When his current business partners were arrested for Triad Connections, O'Neil was advised by NJWF CFO Daisuke Akera to sell them the company.  Now Wild Phoenix has sought to return to his roots, and with his overseas obligations fulfilled, he has come back to the States to reconnect with his family.
